Shea Butter Lotion

Our Shea Butter Lotion! Great for extra dry skin. Made from scratch. So what are the ingredients?
Spring water, Aloe vera gel, refined Shea Butter, refine Cocoa butter, Emulsifying wax,Stearic acid, Almond oil, Sunflower oil, Or Safflower oil (these are very light oils), vegetable glycerin, Phenoxyethanol and Caprylyl Glycol(Optiphen) preservative, fragrance. No color added
What is Stearic Acid and what does it do? Stearic Acid is used to thicken and stabilize formulations. It gives formulations a smooth, satiny feel making it a great ingredient for cremes and lotions.
Stearic acid is one of many fatty acids that occur naturally in various plants and animal derivatives. It's found in such products as animal tallow, cocoa butter and vegetable fats. When it's used in cosmetic products, stearic acid primarily fulfills the role of a thickener or hardener
What is Emulsifying wax? Emulsifying wax helps keep the oil and water from separating by creating an emulsion between the oil and water. An emulsion is a system consisting of a liquid dispersed in an immiscible liquid. Immiscible means not compatible: not able to mix together to make a solution. Think of it as the glue that holds the lotions or creams together. Hard to make lotion without it.
Our Shea Butter Lotion will be back next week.
Thanks for stopping by.
