Homemade Jewelry Cleaner

Ingredients:
1 tablespoonsalt1 tablespoonbaking soda1 tablespoon dish detergent 1 cupwater1 piece aluminum foil Directions:
Heat water in the microwave for 1 or 2 minutes. 2 Cut a piece of aluminum foil that roughly covers the bottom of a small bowl (like a cereal bowl). 3 Pour hot water into bowl. Place salt, soda, and dishwashing liquid into bowl. Place jewelry on top of foil and let it sit for 5 to 10 minutes. Rinse jewelry in cool water and dry jewelry completely with soft cloth. Discard solution after use and make a new batch next time. 4 According to wire-sculpture.com, "this works well for gold-filled, brass, german (nickel) silver, and sterling silver. I have even cleaned jewelry with freshwater pearls, shell cameos and mother of pearl with no problem."

Leaving Artfire

Image
Artfire Closing This was a really touch decision that has bothered me for quite sometime. I have been an active member of Artfire since Novermber 2008 and I have thought long and hard about leaving Artfire. The time has come and I have made my decison and I will be closiong at the end of April. The site is not the same as it use to be and with all the current and up coming changes has forced my decision to leave.

Our Artfire studio will be having a 15% off sale now through the end of the month so stop by and take a look around. There maybe something you have been dying to get and now is 15% off. All items are already marked down so no coupon codes needed. Sale prices are not valid on previous purchased items and only available to currently stock items.
