New Whipped Soaps Are Finally Here!

Well you don't have to wait much longer. I finally have the ready.

So what is up first. Our Whipped Monkey Farts soap. Everyone has been asking me to make another batch of this wonderful soap and it is now ready. I have been waiting weeks for this soap to cure as this soap take a bit longer to cure as it does not heat up like the traditional cold process soap, so the curing time takes much longer. There is a little more involved in making this soap but I am so glad it is finally ready. I used a bar this morning and oh my the lather is wonderful.

Next up is our new Whipped Ultra Violet. This is scented with a floral scent of violets. Very nice scent that I know you will just absolutely can't stop sniffing. This is made the same way as our Monkey Farts. These are now available at our Etsy shop. We will have both of these wonderful soaps up on our website soon as well. Next up on the list is our Mango Sage Tea Whipped Soap. OH my this is wonderful too.

What will we have coming later this month? Glad you asked. On the curing rake is our Coral Citrus Spice. This is a combination of Bergamot, Lime and Pathouli and colored with a beautiful coral color. Also I just made a White Tea. This is amazing. I love the scent and just had to make a batch of soap from it. We are working on in October Berry Pomergrante, Honey Comb, and Pumpkin Vanilla all will be ready before the holidays.

Things That Make You Go hmmmm?

Oh so sorry I accidently deleted the post. (lowers her head) So I decided to just start another post about Things that make you go hmmm? Ok first

Why are hamburgers called hamburger when they are made out of Beef? hmmm?

Who do doctors go to when they are sick? Do they have their own doctors? Same for dentists?

Why are there interstates in Hawaii?

If 7-11 is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, why are there locks on the doors?

Why do they put Braille dots on the keypad of the drive-up ATM? hmmmm dumb huh

You know that little indestructible black box that is used on planes -- why can't they make the whole plane out of the same substance? hmmmm

Ok I am so guilty of doing this Why is it that when you're driving and looking for an address, you turn the radio down?

People Do Not get sick from cold weather; it's from being indoors a lot more.

Why does your GYN leave the room when you get undressed?

f you mated a bulldog and a shitsu, would it be called a bullshit?

Why is there a light in the fridge and not in the freezer? hmmm

Did you ever notice that when you blow in a dog's face, he gets mad at you, but when you take him on a car ride, he sticks his head out the window?

Why does Minute Rice take 5 minutes to cook? hmmm

Did you know it is impossible to sneeze with your eyes open? try and see.

How is it that a building burns up as it burns down?

Have you notice that black olives come in cans and green olives come in jars?

How do you throw away a garbage can? Hmmm

If a word in the dictionary was misspelled due to a printing error, how would we know?

Ok this is dumb Why do hot dogs come 10 to a package and hot dog buns only 8?

Just a thought

Remembering 9/11

What does this day mean to you? No I haven't had a family or a friend lost during this day. No I haven't personally been affected by it. But for those families that have lost love ones and for those that have lost friends, this is the day to remember them. I remember this day like it just happened yesterday. I live near DC and near Dulles Airport and when I hear the planes descending to Dulles Airport I can hear them over my home. I have only lived in this area for a couple of months prior to September 11th. Yes it does make me nervous especially since one of the planes took off from Dulles Airport to hit the Pentagon. So it is a constant reminder. I wasn't much of a flyer before 9/11 actually I haven't flown at all before then. But I finally was able to take a trip to Vegas a couple of times after 9/11 and I must say I was very very nervous about flying. But I got over it eventually.

I have to say that this day will always be a reminder in many of our hearts and minds. Some people think we as Americans should just get over it. Would these people say this if this was someone they knew or loved that was lost on this day? I don't think so. Was this the worst disaster ever recorded in history? No but it does affect us as a nation. Most of us have moved on with our lives and began to pick up the pieces. As my birthday was September 15, 2001, I couldn't help to see that none of these people will ever celebrate a birthday ever again. So now when my birthday comes every year, I am just so thankful that I made it another year. We should be able to remember these people on this day. I will never forget the people that lost their lives and the ones that survived that day and the brave men and women that sacrificed their lives to save them. They will forever live in my heart.

All Ready To Make Soap But....

Uh huh? All ready to start making a batch a soap when I realize, I have no LYE! Thats right folks, can't make any soap without lye. Being that I am in a new home I keep all my oils in my supply closet and this resulted in me running up 2 flights of stairs. I have decided to keep all my oils in my kitchen so I don't have to lug all those huge jugs and canisters down the stairs. I kept forgetting things like my apron, gloves and goggles along with the scale. So up the stairs I go to retrieve those items that I really need.

As you can see in the photo, I was all set up to make some soap last night and realize there was hardly any lye left. Fortunate for me, I don't have to purchase my lye online. I can get it at Loews for 7.66 for a 24 oz bottle of 100% caustic soda. So now I had to wait. Today I was able to get a batch of my Whipped Monkey Farts Soap done. It should be ready in about 3-4 weeks. Sometime early in Oct.

Update: This is how it looks the day after when it is ready to be cut. I cut this early this morning. As you can see the color is a pale yellow then when it looked like when it was put into the mold. It smells sooooo good. And you can see it looks so light and fluffy. I am so glad that this soap turned out so well. I am always nervous when it is time to take the soap out of the mold and cut. You just never know but with whipped soaps you can take your time with it. :-) Thanks for letting me share this with you.

OH I can't wait. My kitchen smells like Monkey Farts :-)

Shape of My Heart

Ok for all the oldies out there who would remember this song. I just saw The Professional and love this song that plays at the end of the movie.

This is one of my all time favorites from Sting. It's so awesome! I kept rewinding the DVR back just so the song would start again. LOL. I just wanted to share this song for those who have not heard it and for those that have heard it remember how great it is. Give it a second to start.

Currently on the Curing Rack

Well I managed to get one batch of my Whipped Soap done. Have you tried Whipped Soap before? Well here is a sneek peek at one of my finished batches for September. This will not be ready til around the end of this month

This is Mango Sage Tea. This is made with the combination of a unique combination of refreshing leaves of rubbed sage, juicy mango, papaya, and strawberries, with a wonderful base note of freshed brewed white tea leaves. Smells awesome. Sorry for the bad photo, this is not the best lighting at the time. As you can see I only make very small batches as I wish my soap just flew off the shelves like many other soapers but in time they will. I know they are great and others will soon realize this too. This bar will be approx 5.5 oz of whipped soap. It is a very large bar. But as it continues to cure, it will feel much lighter due to the whipping that was done to make the soap. I have to say that it took me quite some time last Sunday to make this soap. I have had problems with our HD receiver and have been trying to make this soap and fix the darn receiver. Well the receiver went bad and we had to wind up calling Dish to have it finally replaced. So no satellite for the next 3-5 days. So this batch took most of the day getting to. Setting up the supplies, oils, hand mixer, and all the things I need to get this made took forever. I have a three story house and going up and down 2 flights of stairs was tiring. I get all the way down stairs and then realized that I forgot a few things like the scale. LOL The oils have to be weighed.

I just found out from the supplier that I got this fragrance from that this may turn the soap tan in color OH NO! This usually happens in Cold process when there is vanilla added to the fragrance. But according to the ingredients, this scent does not have vanilla listed. So I have to wait at least another week to see how this turns out. The color fading using accure around the first or second week of curing. I learned this before when I used Pink Sugar in one of my cold process soaps and the whole batch turned BROWN. I found a wonderful product called a vanilla stabilizer that eliminates the browning in cold process soaps from using fragrance oils that contain vanilla in it. I just wish I knew ahead of time that this may turn brown so I can use the stabilizer in it. Keep your fingers crossed :-)

So do you need to stock up on more soap for you and your family? Any birthdays or anniversaries coming up that you need to find a gift for? Well look no further. If you try our soaps just once, you will definitely be hooked. I still have a large selecting of soaps still available. This is just a sample of what your soaps will look like once they arrive. Nothing fancy and I like to keep it that way. After all its whats in the soap that matters. At least for me it is :-) Check out my website at http://pegasussoaps.com or at my Etsy shop at http://pegasussoaps.etsy.com You can never have too much soap!
