Flaxseed Oil - eczema, psoriasis, acne and aging skin
Olive Oil- regenerate new skin cells, draws moisture to external skin cells
Macadamia Oil- Penetrates the skin quickly, anti oxidant

Packaged Block Soap Base
These ingredients are normally found in melt and pour soaps. Some of these bases are made with Goat's milk, olive oil, honey and other nice sounding ingredients are added in small amounts. Usually these ingredients are added near the end of the ingredients list. The first ingredients usually have the most of all the ingredients. Compare the ingredients to natural oils to all the detergents and artificial ingredients. This is a typical melt and pour label for ingredients:
Sodium cocoate, sodium palmitate, sodium laurate, sodium stearate, glycerin, sodium laureth sulfate, propylene glycol, sucrose, triethanolamine, water, titanium dioxide,
Glycerin-naturally occurring by-product of true soap; chemically removed to make packaged soap base; moisturizing
Sodium Stearate-derived from stearic acid (see below); detergent; can remove natural oils from the skin
Sorbitol-derived from synthetic alcohol; used to thicken the soap base
Sucrose- just sugar
Propylene Glycol-derived from natural gas; synthetic moisturizer; can irritate sensitive skin
Sodium Laureth Sulphate-detergent; makes the soap foam; can be drying to the skin
Stearic Acid-wax-like fatty acid; used to make the soap base harder Sodium Chloride-i.e. salt; used to thicken the soap base; can dry and irritate the skin
DMDM Hydantoin-synthetic preservative
So make the comparison and see. Try one homemade soap and a melt and pour bar and see for yourself. I still like to use M & P soaps for making fun fragrant soaps and they are great for short term uses but for long term, I myself prefer homemade.
